Scott Lee

Infrastructure engineer who embeds agentic AI into enterprise operations. Builds things for the web. Plays synthesizers.

About

Senior System Administrator at Arnold Magnetic Technologies, managing enterprise virtualization across 12 global manufacturing sites in ITAR/NIST 800-171 regulated environments. I architect backup, identity, and compliance infrastructure end-to-end.

I embed agentic AI into daily operations — building MCP servers that connect autonomous agents to enterprise systems, automating infrastructure with enforced quality governance, and delivering full-stack applications through agent-assisted workflows.

Outside of infrastructure, I build web apps and study music theory and pedagogy. Currently building Solmisa — a music education platform with adaptive ear training and spaced-repetition learning.

Arnold Magnetic Technologies

2023–present

Senior System Administrator

Rochester, NY

  • Manage ~300 VMs across 12 global sites on 20+ VMware ESXi/vCenter hosts spanning the US, EU, and Asia.
  • Architected and operate enterprise backup infrastructure from the ground up — designed hardware sizing, built Active Directory and PKI, deployed Veeam Backup & Replication, and configured all backup jobs — replacing a failing environment with a standards-compliant solution protecting ~500 TB of production data across 2 PB of capacity with 50+ jobs spanning 4 countries and 3 continents.
  • Led remote migration of a Nutanix cluster in China to Hyper-V on existing hosts and iSCSI storage with no swing hardware, converting nodes one at a time using nested virtualization with zero on-site support.
  • Modernized authentication across the organization by replacing ad-hoc login systems and unencrypted LDAP with OIDC and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Deployed enterprise IoT monitoring using Monnit sensors and Grafana dashboards for real-time environmental visibility across manufacturing facilities.
  • Align infrastructure implementations with NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and ISO 27001 controls, ensuring new deployments meet compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain 4 custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers connecting AI agents to enterprise IT service management, project management, Microsoft 365/Entra ID, and organizational documentation systems.
  • Embeds agentic tooling (Claude Code) into daily operations, generating enterprise-grade PowerShell and TypeScript automation with PSScriptAnalyzer enforcement, pre-commit validation, and project-specific governance standards (CLAUDE.md) across all repositories.
  • Orchestrates multi-agent development workflows using parallel agents in isolated git worktrees with autonomous task polling from project management systems.

  • Collaborated with Microsoft infrastructure teams to identify, escalate, and track platform-level incidents across customer production environments.
  • Developed working knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, VPNs), identity (Azure AD, RBAC), backup/DR (Site Recovery), and hybrid cloud (Azure Stack HCI) through hands-on customer engagement and lab environments.

Datto Inc.

2021–2022

BCDR Technical Support Engineer - Level 2

Rochester, NY
